The Best Microwave Ovens Made in the USA

Microwave ovens fitted in your kitchen can help to make quick meals and reheat leftovers. Modern microwave ovens also offer smart features like voice controls and remote controls.

That is to say, a smart microwave would be paired with our smart home system and connected to our Wi-Fi. It would be more than reasonable to be careful about the manufacture.

In today’s market, I’d say, it’s really challenging to find a microwave that is made in the USA. It’s not mission impossible, though.

There are some high-quality microwaves made in America today. In the following content, we’ll show you how to tell if a microwave oven is made in the USA.

In this post, we also put together a list of the best America-made microwave ovens.

Let’s dive in.

How to Tell If a Microwave Oven Is Made in the USA?

It could be extremely time-consuming to check if a microwave is made in America. Manufacturers just don’t put such kind of information on their product page anymore.

What’s worse? Manufacturers sometimes put the American national flag on the package of the microwave. However, it doesn’t mean that the microwave is made in the USA.

So, how to tell if a microwave is made in America?

The ideal situation is to find a microwave manufactured by a US-owned business with local production.

If the microwave oven is manufactured in the USA, you can find a “Made in USA” tag on the physical product. It tends to appear around the price tag or barcode.

What about shopping online? If you’re shopping online for an American-made microwave, you could try your luck at looking for the information in the user’s manual. Or you can just contact the consumer support for detailed info.

However, many US-owned brands manufacture their microwave abroad or produce their microwave ovens with global materials.

It means that you could encounter all kinds of America-branded microwave ovens that are made abroad in the market. This is where fact-checking comes in.

Again, you could just contact the consumer support for details. Or look for proof of their USA-based factory on their website or other media.

  1. I appreciate your article. However you are just stating what all of us serious microwave shoppers already have discovered, The great corporate “runaround”. When it comes down to actually going and buying a microwave in the USA, finding where you can buy that “made in USA” product cant be found.
When asking a sales person for a “made in the USA” microwave, they usually snicker, laugh, and make statements like, “Are you kidding”; “Seriously”; or “Oh you must be a “union” person.”
When you call the customer service of these companies, such as GE regarding actually buying a “USA made” microwave, they tell you that they have know way to know which facility in the USA that manufactures their USA microwaves or where you can actually purchase one.

  2. I purchased a KitchenAid countertop microwave because I thought it was made in the USA like some of their other appliances. Much to my chagrin when I opened the door it said “Made in China”. I was totally disappointed. Luckily I’m in a position to get this one returned, hence my hunt for a USA made microwave.
