Cooking with a microwave is one of the easiest ways to have food prepared. We could use a microwave to reheat leftovers, warm beravege, make popcorn and more. Where would we be without a microwave oven?
However, cooking with a microwave oven is sometimes a huge mess. And the follow-up cleaning could be painful.
That’s why today we are going to share some tricks that completely eliminate splatters in the microwave.
And these tricks are surprisingly easy to apply to your daily microwave cooking process. Let’s get started.
Method 1. Use a Cover to Prevent Splatter
All you need is a microwave-safe cover. Yep, it’s that simple.
Cover your dinner plate or bowl with the splatter cover before you turn on the microwave. And the cover will keep the splatters and steam contained.
When you’re shopping for a cover to prevent splatters, here’s what you need to bear in mind.
We’d strongly recommend you get a large one that can fit most of your dishes, plates and bowls.
Make sure the microwave splatter cover is made of food grade material with BPA free. Therefore, you won’t need to worry about food safety while using it to prevent splatters.
Go for a splatter cover that can go into the dishwasher. So you won’t have to clean it yourself every time you use it.
Method 2. Use Microwave-Safe Plastic Wrap to Prevent Splatters
Another trick to prevent splatters is to use some plastic wrap.
To keep your microwave clean and fresh, place some plastic wrap on the top of your bowls or plates. It also helps trap the water droplets and prevent splattering.
Look for the “Microwave-Safe” symbol before you use the wrap in the microwave. The food grade and safe symbol are equally important.
Method 3. Use a Microwave Without Turntable or with a Turntable On/Off Option
In fact, splatters mainly happen because of the turntable. To get your food evenly cooked, the turntable rotates while cooking. And that’s the main reason why water droplets and splatters happen.
To microwave without splatter, using a microwave without a turntable or a microwave with a turntable off option is effective.
